Mazel Tov!!! My step sister in law Dina had a baby boy this morning!! Especially a big bracha, as she lost her twins last year at 24 weeks :( This baby is B"H full term and over 8 lbs!! May he always be healthy & strong and make his parents proud!! |

The MIL is coming to visit...
So tomorrow morning my mother in law is coming in. I love my mother in law dearly, but I don't love her criticism. she doesn't mean to be mean, but i don't look forward to her comments on the state of my house! dovid will probably prompt her on the way home, "no criticizing bracha." firstly, she only had one kid, so she doesn't realize what a handful (& blessing!!) 3 are. secondly, her nature is ocd-cleanliness while i'm disorganized. as much as i'll try to clean up, i know it'll be messy for her. also, i hope she won't mention my weight gain. :( I'm very self conscious about it and I really want to lose it but have been unsuccessful due to stresses lately (at least that's my excuse). I am hoping now that pesach is over to get down to serious dieting, but i hope she doesn't notice or comment on my size. waaaa!!! wish me luck! Current Mood: worried |

The Shabbos guests that weren't....
This is a venting post. Last week Thursday I contacted a "friend" on Facebook and asked if she wanted to come for a Shabbos meal. (None of you know her! so you don't even have to guess.) She asked if she could come with 3 friends for the day meal, as they hadn't any planned. Luckily, these are GIRLS, so I knew I didn't have to cook TOO much more. Just bigger challah, bigger cholent, an extra salad - big, too. Set. The meal was scheduled for 12. Sometimes guests show up late, but eventually we do start with out them!! Yup, they never showed up. Not even late. And not only that, this "friend" did not contact me afterwards to apologize. Sunday evening I see her on facebook and this is something how our conversation went. Me: ? She: How are you Me: B"H. How are you? She: good, a little tired. (notice, no mention of Shabbos!!!) Me: What happened on Shabbos? She: we woke up late, we were up late talking. (Notice no apology!!!! Just an excuse!!) Me: We waited for you for an hour She: I'm sorry...so sorry (finally! but is she really sorry??) Do you think I should invite her again?? I'm not so sure. It's not the first time we expected her and she didn't show up. And last time I didn't get an apology either. I ended with a little mussar. Me: Next time if someone is waiting for you and you can't show up, it is nice to apologize. (no response) How can some people be so inconsiderate??? They just don't THINK! |
